Choose a current issue that interests you. Hand the article in with your response paper.
Include:
Newspaper name or website address, and date.
Article title and writer.
Is this a global, national, or local issue/event?
Complete the 5'Ws
Summary
Choosing an article
- Don't just choose the first one you find or the story on the front cover
- Be sure see that it is a current issue that can be discussed in class
- Read the article and ask yourself if you understand what you have read
- Use the reading strategies to dig deeper into the article you have read
- No articles about murders or car crashes
Oral Presentation
(engaging, fluent, clear, confident, demonstrates respectful manner and knowledge when answering questions). Remember not to read the article or your paper, but tell the class what you have learned.
